DNA conducted an election survey on nuclear emergency planning with all 209 candidates running for municipal office in the elections coming up on October 27th. All candidates in each of Durham’s 8 municipalities were included. The questionnaire with its explanatory preamble can be found here.
** There is a near consensus among respondents that elected officials should advocate for the province to consult openly with the citizens of Durham Region on updating nuclear emergency plans with the goal that revised plans will meet international best practices.

In 1994 I was the victim of a nuclear accident(Temporary 3 month contract) and other exposures to extreme doses of Gamma Radiation at the Pickering Plant.I filed a law suit (23 claims) under the “Nuclear Liability Act”(Federal legislation). After 20+ years of being bounced around in the WSIB and WSIAT nothing has been resolved.In 2004 my wife filed her own law suit under the “Family Law Act”for the pain she suffered as I struggled with PTSD.Her suit could not proceed because the WSIB does not allow 3rd party actions.The WSIB & WSIAT do not have jurisdiction over nuclear it being Federal authority.The Power Workers Union were involved in the corruption to protect OPG from prosecution by supplying their “Yes Men” to lie and perjure at various court and Board hearings,falsefying the events of that Dec 10th evening.Many events that have never seen the light of day.My only hope for justice and making the truth known is the “Supreme Court of Canada”.This is not an easy task for me as I approach 69 and my wife 70 and our financial situation a crucial state.Can Durham Nuclear Awareness get involved and help?You will learn a lot about how some people are deliberately put in areas of high radiation without their knowledge and other horrors.This is the tip of the iceberg.
